Mahdi Frough

Mahdi Frough is the deputy-director and leads the Economics Development & Trade division at Porsesh Research and Studies Organization (PRSO). Frough is an economist and a trained researcher in theory and practice. In the field of research, Frough has experience working in India, Nepal and Kabul with various research organizations. His past research experiences include working with the Asia Foundation, contributing to designing methodology, data analysis, and co-authorship of A Survey of the Afghan People. Frough has also worked with SamuelHall Research Consultancy, SAARC secretariat and Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS). Additionally, Frough has taught courses in economics at Gawharshad University. He is also an Economist at the Ministry of Finance, who deals with Macro-Fiscal data and modelling. Frough uses Stata, R and GAM for statistical analysis.

Frough holds a MA degree in Development Economics from South Asian University, and a Bachelor of Business Management degree from Andhra University. He has also completed part of his coursework for M.Phil. degree in Development Studies from Indra Gandhi Institute of Development Research. Frough has published a policy papers with Central Asia Policy Briefs, and co-authored A Survey of the Afghan People (2016). Recently he published his joint work on pros and cons of WTO for Afghanistan at the Afghanistan Economic Society.
