We organize conferences, seminars, workshops, training and research release on or about research conducted or to be conducted and general or specific topics relevant to disseminating research findings of PRSO or partner organization and capacity building for research.   • Job Hunting Skills Workshop (10th December 2016 - Ibn-e Sina University)
    After graduation, the first thing that most of graduates will think of is job hunting. With so many candidates now on the Afghan market, employers look for evidence of skills and work experience, which separates the candidates from the crowd. Aside from other Hard and Soft skills, the essential to present your expertise, communicate your ability and experience to the market is having a professional resume. It is the first step toward hunting a job. It is a tool that sales your skills. Therefore, it needs to be neat, clean, rich, concise and job-oriented.
    PRSO, along with conducting research for policy making, helps graduates search and secure suitable positions. It has already conducted various Job Hunting Skills Seminars through targeting senior university students.
    On December 10, 2016, in coordination with Ibn-e-Sina University, PRSO managed to conduct a 3 hours intensive session of Soft Skill Development Workshops that included writing professional CV and Interview skill. The program has targeted 45 senior students and university graduates.

  • Introduction to Chevening Scholarship (29th September 2016 - Ibn-e Sina University)
    Understanding the importance of higher education and for the purpose of creating awareness on the important international scholarships, Porsesh Research and Studies Organization (PRSO) in coordination with Ibn-e Sina University and the Chevening Program in Afghanistan, organized an event to introduce the Chevening Scholarship to the potential applicants, on 29 September, 2016. Chevening Scholarships are awarded to outstanding emerging leaders to pursue a one-year Master’s at any UK university. In this program the SAHERO delivered an introductory presentation on the Chevening Scholarship Programme for Afghanistan, on behalf the Chevening Programme at the British Embassy in Kabul. The event also brought together the Chevening Alumi in Kabul to share their experience with the interested applicants for the 2017-18 cohort. Mustafa Ali Jamal, a Chevening Alumni who studied International Development at Kingston University and now working as Research and Development with the Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA) talked on the various MA programs and also shared his experience as Chevening scholar in UK. Horun Najafizada, another Chevening Alumni and currently Journalist with the BBC also shared his experience and talked on his post-Chevening experience in Afghanistan. The program received warm response and 137 potential applicants including men and women attended the event. The participants appreciated the organizers for the initiative. PRSO, in line with its mission of promoting research and evidence-based decision making, believes that creating awareness about capacity building opportunities is an important step towards introducing potential youth with the eminent universities and think-tanks.

  • A Research Seminar and Presentation on Ignored Identities: Status of Hindus and Sikhs In Afghanistan's Legal System (19th November 2016 - Ibn-e Sina University)
    Since the second half of the 20th century, human rights have gained critical significance, at least their ethical aspect, at both the national and international level. It is arguably the dominant discourse of our time. Today, any political regime that is not committed to human rights values is considered illegitimate because human rights constitute the parameter of evaluating state legitimacy both domestically and internationally. As a result, most countries have included human rights provisions in their Constitution and are committed to support and respect them. As a member of the international community, Afghanistan has signed and ratified many protocols and conventions including the Charter of the United Nations, International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, International Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination, Convention on the Rights of the Child, Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women, Slavery Convention, Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, Convention Concerning Forced or Compulsory Labor, and the Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, among. Most of these conventions have been signed by Afghanistan in the second-half of the 20th Century and the country is required to respect and promote the rights enshrined in these conventions.   • Leishmaniasis Outbreak in Kabul: Case Study of 13th District
    Porsesh Research and Studies Organization (PRSO) presented the research findings on “Lashmaniasis outbreak in Kabul: (2016) case study of 13 district” in an event at Ibn-e Sina University, on 12 June, 2016.In this event, stakeholders from various organizations, including the Lashmaniasis Hospital, the affected community representatives, academia and the media participated and commented on the findings of the research. PRSO described the research in two sections. In the first section the approach of the research, being from a social science approach and the research objectives and methodology was elaborated by Ehsan Shayagan and in the second section the findings was presented by Jawed Nazari, PRSO research board members.
